First, I must say that I was dangerously ignorant about the Israeli-Palestinian crisis until very recently. The video "Peace, Propaganda and the Promised Land" helped lift this veil of ignorance. If you do not deeply understand what is really happening, please watch:

It must be made immediately clear, that this group is in no way against the Jewish religion, but we stand strongly against deadly Israeli-American policies relating to Palestine. Moreover, it is a clear fact that a great many Jews strongly support peace and likewise oppose the right-wing Israeli policies entailing the cruel Palestinian occupation and the recent assault on Gaza.
It should also be noted that all indiscriminate bombings of civilians by ANY organization must be strongly condemned regardless of whether it is Hamas or the Israel government, and one side should never be immune from criticism. This is the ONLY consistent position, and the most constructive path toward an honest Peace Policy.
SUSI is an international student organization advocating for United States independence from right-wing Israeli dictation of Middle East policy. Non-students are welcome too!
The purpose of this group is to eliminate the power over our government by right-wing Israeli special interests represented in part by the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). Einstein (a progressive Jew) warned America in 1948 of the development of Irgun, a right-wing "fascist, terrorist, chauvinist" Israeli political ideology. Unfortunately, Irgun is a direct ancestor to the right-wing Israeli political ideologies/parties in power now. Einstein also warned of the potential for members of the Irgun ideology to gain power over the American government through "financial contributions" in our elections. This is essentially what has happened, and this right-wing ideology has also gained considerable control over and within our media as well.

Many of the largest donors to American political campaigns are right-wing Israeli interested multimillionaire and billionaire contributors. Some American politicians get over 50% of their funding from these sources.

Our government is nearly unanimous in support of right-wing Israeli interests at the expense of American and global interests. This unjust and skewed policy can be witnessed by 99% of the U.S. government recently providing full-throated endorsement of Israeli aggression in Gaza where hundreds of civilians were indiscriminately bombed. Moreover, our government is essentially silent on the atrocious occupation of the Palestinian territories, which entails almost 300,000 Israelis living in hundreds of illegal apartheid "Jews Only" colonial settlements with a vast network of "Jews Only" roads within the West Bank.

There is clear evidence that War Crimes were being committed by Israel and our government was telling the Arab world that we completely supported this. The only consistent position was to condemn this activity regardless of organization responsible, whether it is Hamas, Hezbollah, Al Qaeda or Israel.

Moreover, almost half the American public did not support the recent Israeli aggression against Gaza, which killed hundreds of women and children. Our government is NOT representing us!

Independence for the United States from this control would not only ameliorate the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but it would also end terrorism. We have been strategically lied to by our political leaders and media about the motives of the 9/11 hijackers. Al Qaeda attacked us for extremely biased support for Israel even when they commit War Crimes against their Arab neighbors. The lie that we are told is that we were attacked because they "hate our freedom".

In order to eliminate right-wing Israeli interests from controlling our government, we must institute Full Public Campaign Financing. The private campaign donations that "legally" bribe and corrupt our politicians must end! This is the source of our problem and only this can bring even-handed Middle East policy, and end Arab animosity toward America as well as terrorism.
